About Me
Hi I'm Alison and if you would like to know a bit about me, please read on.
I left school after A Levels and like most people, still not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. I thought of going to university to do an Art Degree as I had really enjoyed completing my Art A-Level at school - how I wish I had! But instead found myself a job with nothing at all to do with art - a secretary. I can't say I regretted not going onto university but there has always been that thought of "what if?"
A few years ago, I found I had time on my hands and was looking for a hobby. Nothing was really jumping out at me and I had no idea what I fancied trying. One day my mam came in with a selection of different coloured seed beads, some wire and a bead book. Hey presto! I had a new hobby. I took to it like a duck to water, before I knew it my bedroom was full of beads, findings, books and everything else you can imagine to do with beads!! A hobby for when I was bored gradually turned into another way of life. Family and friends were commenting on the items I was wearing. It snowballed! It gave me a great sense of satisfaction hearing the comments about MY jewellery, jewellery I had made! I started making more and more, and the comments kept coming!
I have since moved into a new home with my partner (more space for beads!) and the spare room is my workshop. I am no longer bored and can be found either in my workshop or playing with our three gorgeous dogs Jack, Harry and Baxter.
My partner has helped me set up this site (which I hope you all like!). I think maybe oneday I would like to concentrate on my beading full time, a distant pipe dream but hey, who knows! For now though it will remain a fullfilling pastime.
All I ask is, for you to get as much pleasure from wearing the items as I do from making them.
Anyway enough about me, Happy Shopping!

About my jewellery
All jewellery is made by me, in the UK (a little house on the outskirts of the beautiful City of Durham to be precise!)
Every item is individually handcrafted and nothing is mass produced, most items being "one of a kind", so you are sure to find something that can be treasured!
My unique handcrafted jewellery pieces are created with Swarovski crystals, designer Lampwork beads, glass beads imported from all over the world, gemstones and natural shell accompanied with Bali .925 silver, Hill Tribe .999 Silver, .925 Sterling Silver, silver plated or brass and copper findings.
Handmade jewellery will always be more fragile than industrially made or mass produced items, therefore, the jewellery needs to be handled with care and consideration. Please note that items are not suitable for children as they include small, sometimes removable parts which could be a choking hazard.
Caring for your chosen piece of jewellery
Lampwork beads. Please note that these are handmade glass beads and can still be broken or chipped. Not suitable for children.
Silver. Any silver or silver plated items can be kept sparkling by polishing regularly with a silver polishing cloth.
Caring for Pearls. Pearls can become dull by everyday wear. Perfume, hairspray etc can damage pearls, so always spray perfume and hairspray before putting on your piece of jewellery and to take care of them when not in use, keep them in a box so that they cannot get damaged.
